Shravan Singh, Just 10-Year-Old Risks Everything to Help Soldiers – Wins India's Top Honor for Kids!

A little boy from a small village in Punjab has everyone talking today. Meet Shravan Singh, who is just 10 years old went out of his way to help Indian soldiers during a tough time. And guess what? President Droupadi Murmu just handed him India's biggest award for kids – the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar!

What Happened During Operation Sindoor?
Back in May 2025, things got intense with Operation Sindoor. It all started after a terrible terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent people lost their lives. India hit back hard with strikes on terror spots across the border. Soldiers were everywhere near the Punjab border, standing guard in the scorching heat.
Shravan lives in Chak Taran Wali village, Ferozepur district right near the action. This Class 5 kid didn't just sit and watch. Every single day, he grabbed stuff from home and ran to the soldiers carrying fresh milk from his family's dairy, hot tea, cool lassi, buttermilk, and even ice to beat the heat. And water, lots of it. He did this even when things were risky, with drones buzzing around and tension high.
In his own words, Shravan told reporters, "When Operation Sindoor started against Pakistan, the soldiers came to our village. I just thought I should help them. I'd take milk, tea, buttermilk, and ice every day." He added with a big smile, "Getting this award feels amazing. I never even dreamed about it!"
His dad, Sona Singh, is a farmer with a small dairy business. The whole family backed him up. Shravan even offered his house if the soldiers needed a place to stay. The army loved him. They honored him right after the operation and called him their "youngest civil warrior." Now, he's got the national spotlight.

The award ceremony happened today, December 26, 2025, in New Delhi. It's also Veer Bal Diwas, a day to remember the young sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji who showed unbelievable courage centuries ago. Perfect timing for a story like Shravan's. Out of 20 kids honored this year for things like bravery and service, Shravan got it for his selfless help to the troops.
People are sharing his story everywhere online. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann called it a proud moment for the state. Others are saying it shows age doesn't matter when it comes to patriotism. Shravan says he wants to join the army one day and keep serving the country. The soldiers even treated him to meals and ice cream back then, he was over the moon.
Stories like this remind us how one small act can inspire a whole nation. In a world full of big headlines, here's a kid proving that kindness and guts can change things. Proud of you, Shravan!
